“God is not the author of your chaos, nor does He delight in it” Pastor Aaron Nov. 20, 2022
As I was listening to Pastor Aaron’s message this past Sunday, I was reminded of God’s incredible presence in our lives when we feel like we are at our weakest. I took great encouragement when Aaron shared Lamentations 3:31-33.
“For no one is cast off by the Lord forever. Though He brings grief, He will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone.”
The words that came to mind immediately were “good will”. The multitude of angels in Luke 2:14 spoke of God’s peace and good will.
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
God has good will towards us. Understanding and embracing that foundational truth is what allows us to keep taking those next steps when we can’t see anything changing. Keep praying when all seems lost. Keep serving others when it seems like we are running on empty.
My wife and I are currently part of a leadership team with two other couples in a small group about God’s plan for marriage. Good will from each partner towards the other is a foundational truth that must be present in all successful marriages. Believing in the good will of your partner is one of the things that gets couples through all the inevitable bumps and chaos that life will throw at a marriage. When we understand and know that our partner always has OUR best interests in their heart, it gives us strength to persevere through any challenge.
The good will between Husbands and Wives cannot begin to approach the Good Will our heavenly Father has towards all of us. As we enter into this awesome time of year, let’s reflect on understanding and believing, that God only has good will towards us. He has given us everything in Him, and because of Him, we can be victorious.
“… In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 KJV
Love y’all…
