The Attitude of Christ

Sometimes keeping the attitude of Christ will be the hardest thing you will do with your day. Daily challenges and curve balls such as illnesses, your job, your family, etc, can all put a strain on the way we live and act. Those days when your kids are sassy or your coworker is not being a team player, it can throw a HUGE wrench into where your head goes and how your mouth works. I know.

Our lives are full of ups and downs, but then if our days were easy would we talk to God as much? As Pastor Pete reminded us on Sunday: The attitude of Jesus is courage. Are we facing our daily lives with courage or do we crumble? Are we falling into the pattern of the Blame Game? This is why Jesus should be front and center in our lives. Jesus knew the risks in front of him at the cross and faced it with courage. Would we? Do we face our days with purpose or with pride? Trying to always stay one step ahead of God when we try to work things out ourselves, is not the answer. Trusting in God is when God’s sovereignty comes into play and will help us resolve what is bothering us. Trusting in God fully does take great courage.

God does not give us a clear word or opens a door for us to know he is helping. Trusting in God’s ways is about taking a bold step (courage)- having real purpose in our actions- and knowing that our true purpose is being like Jesus. Receiving the peace from our courageous faithful actions, can make our days purpose clearer.

When we are in God’s word, listening to podcasts, joining in a prayer group, and surrounding ourself with like- minded people, these are just a few avenues to hear from God. It is your move and God is waiting to hear from you. What is your plan for today?

Philippians 2:12-15 Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.  For it is God who works in you to will and to act on behalf of His good purpose. Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine as lights in the world

My prayer for you is Philippians 4:4-7.
