The Journey of Letting God

Throughout life we have many experiences. Recently my daughter left for
college and even though I know this is a good thing I can’t help but feel an
incredible sense of loss. I have been randomly crying for 2 years. When we had to
say our goodbyes, it was as though someone had died. For my mommy heart it is a
definitive moment in time and marks “the death of her childhood” and the
beginning of new chapter in her life.

Psalms 46:10 says, Be still and know that I am God. I have repeated this
verse to myself many times. My brain and heart try to understand that this is all
part of the process of growing up. God has been reminding me that he is walking
through this every step of the way. God’s love has shown up in many ways. Through
calls or texts from friends and family or a song on the radio to let me know God
was not only thinking of me but walking with me during these moments.
Psalms 138:8 (AMPC) “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your
mercy and loving-kindness O Lord endure forever-forsake not the works of your
own hands.

Ephesians 3:20 (NLT) Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty
power at work within us to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

This process reminds us of God sending his only son to die on the cross and
pay for the sins of ALL. It is the ultimate example of true love. God loves us so
much even in our sin that he allowed his heart to be broken as Jesus was tortured
and hung on the cross. I take comfort in knowing that whatever things are
happening in life, God wants to be a part of it all. God makes it easy for us and all
we must do is trust Him and ask him to be a part of it. It doesn’t matter how big or
small that task, God wants to be a part of it all.

Prayer: Heavenly Father thank you for allowing us to experience your love in
everyday life. Remind us of your love. Let your grace and mercy restore us new
each day. Guard our hearts and remind us that no matter what is happening that
you Lord are in control. Open our ears to hear your still small voice. Open our eyes
to see what you see and love what you love. Thank you, God, that you never leave us
nor forsake us and that you want to be a part of our everyday ordinary lives.
