May Week 4
Leviticus 23:3 NLT “You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of complete rest, an official day for holy assembly. It is the Lord’s Sabbath day, and it must be observed wherever you live.
The Sabbath is a reminder of two worlds, this world and the world to come. The Sabbath is joy, holiness, and rest; joy is a part of this world; holiness and rest are something of the world to come. To observe the seventh day does not mean merely to obey or to conform to the strictness of the command to observe. It is to celebrate the creation of the world and to create the seventh day all over again with the majesty of His holiness in it. It is a day of rest, a day of freedom. It is a day which is like a Lord and king of all the other days.
