January Week 2
Matthew 5:17 – “Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.”
“The Sabbath is not merely a good idea; it is one of the 10 Commandments. Jesus did not cancel or annul the idea of the Sabbath. In the 10 Commandments, the 4th (Sabbath) is the bridge that takes us from the first three which focus on God, to the final five, which concentrate on our relationships with other others” (Sabbath, by Dan Allender, p. 5).
