april Week 4
Mark 2:27 Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath.”
People tend to love extremes—either toward legalism or lawlessness. I see this in how many approach the Sabbath. Some turn it into a list of “thou shalt nots,” making it feel more like a 24-hour sentence in a low-security prison than a delight. Others dismiss it entirely, saying, “Jesus is my Sabbath rest,” while living frazzled, hurried, stressed out lives. The truth lies in the middle: We don’t “have to” Sabbath—we “get to” Sabbath.
